Five steps to repair the floor

Repair of concrete floor using epoxy resin is quite simple and consists of several basic steps. Here are the instructions.

Resin floors: epoxy, polyurethane

1. Substrate preparation: before proceeding to repair flooring, its surface must be clean and dry. If the floor is contaminated with grease, oil or other substances, this can disrupt the adhesion of the resin. You can use a pressure washer or specialized cleaners to clean the surface.

2. Leveling the floor: if the floor is uneven, use a special tool to grind the roughness. It is important that the surface is as smooth as possible before applying the resin.

3. Filling cracks and voids: use a special Mass to fill cracks and voids in the concrete floor. There are different types of such masses available on the market, but it is best to choose one that is compatible with the resin used to repair the floor.

4. Epoxy resin application: after preparing the substrate, resin application is a relatively simple process. It is necessary to mix the resin with the hardener according to the manufacturer's instructions, and then apply the mixture to the floor using a roller.

How to care for an old concrete floor?

Here are some tips on how to care for an old concrete floor.

Regular sweeping and vacuuming of the floor will help remove dust, sand and other deposits that can cause scratches and other damage. Cleaning the concrete floor with warm water and a mild detergent helps keep the surface clean. Strong chemicals that can damage the surface should be avoided.

After washing the floor, it is important to dry it well. This can be done naturally, but when it's damp outside, it can be difficult. In this case, we can use a hair dryer or a fan. If there are cracks, irregularities or cavities on the floor, they can be filled with a special concrete filler for repair the floor, and then grind the floor so that it is as smooth as possible.
